An Oral History of American Music

An Oral History of American Music
An Oral History of American Music is a four-volume series documenting the history of twentieth-century American music directly through the voices of composers. Drawing from material in the Oral History American Music archive at Yale University, the books and accompanying CDs make these important primary sources available for the first time to the general public.

The authors, Vivian Perlis and Libby Van Cleve were also honored with an 2006 ASCAP Deems Taylor Special Recognition Award for their work on the series. For interviews, excerpts, and more information on this book, visit the Oral History, American Music website.
