Lewis & Clark's WestWilliam Clark's 1810 Master Map of the American West
The 1804 expedition by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to explore the Louisiana Purchase fundamentally changed Americans’ perception of their own country. Upon his return to St. Louis Clark, the principal cartographer for the journey, crafted a comprehensive map, one that served as part of the expedition’s official history and became a chief source of information for maps published before 1840. Clark’s original manuscript map, now in the collection of Yale University’s Beinecke Library is reproduced in faithful full-color. Available in two versions – a folded map in a cover and a deluxe rolled map on thick paper.
